Training Accreditation Council

The Emergency Services Training Accreditation Council is a nonprofit entity which screens continuing education courses for emergency services like emergency medical, fire and law enforcement, and provides accreditation to the course and the instructor for a period of one year.

The term accreditation means that the courses, and instructors meet the basic requirements necessary to provide continuing education courses in the selected topics. It does not mean that ESTAC holds any responsibility for the content of the courses, or qualifications of the instructors. Both content and qualifications are the responsibility of the instructor and of the regulatory authority where they work.

The council is comprised of experts in specific fields which will ensure that the training courses submitted for accreditation are current with standards by reviewing the instructor's submitted materials. It is the instructor's responsibility to ensure all material and certifications submitted will be factual, and not fraudulent.

SO WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?

Some may ask why use ESTAC for accreditation? What benefit exists by using us? Well, the answer is pretty simple in the aspect that an instructor who might not be allowed to submit accreditation documentation using their agency information due to possible policy issues. This allows the instructor to work under our issued accreditation.

Another reason is for specialized training where a company is potentially mobile and not based in a specific region, they can submit to us for accreditation.

Notice, there is no guarantee that a specific regulatory authority will accept our accreditation for continuing education. To aid and assist with local accreditation, the procedures for accreditation and credentials of the ESTAC staff and council will be provided.
